I realize this is a very ooooold ...BRAS ARE STUPID

I realize this is a very ooooold post, but...I have to say this, now that I have divots too. Ugh! I only noticed them a few days ago, and ditched the bras instantly. I had gone wireless 2.5 years ago due to a breast lump (it's a calcified cyst, not a tumor) but sadly, with removal of wires which create a tighter fit on the body, the torso support tanked and the shoulders ended up bearing the brunt of the weight of my 36G breasts.

Now I've ordered strapless bras, and will stick to them no matter what. After all, what is a strapless bra but a stretchy kind of "short stay" that was used for breast support in the Regency era?

I now wonder if stays and corsets are such a bad idea after all? At the very least, they keep the breast weight off the shoulders and distribute it more evenly all over the torso and even the hips, depending on the length of the corset. I would give A LOT to go back 2.5 years and have chosen corsets then, to avoid the ugly divot in the first place.

Nowadays, thinking we are "more evolved" than women were 100 to several hundreds of years ago, we shame our ancestors who wore corsets, calling out how women deformed their bone structures, or how some had invasive surgery to remove ribs. We use this logic to call corsets barbaric.

But how different are we now? We now deform the structure of our shoulder bones with straps bearing a heavy weight, we now have invasive surgery to remove pesky breast tissue and we STILL wear shapewear for the desired silhouette. By the same logic, bras are barbaric.

Nothing has changed at all. It's a different kind of deformation. I think I will take a leaf out of the book of my ancestors. They may have known more than we think.
soohumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16747098775144235298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8276394445294788649.post-81004482772549874862022-08-28T00:45:42.431-04:002022-08-28T00:45:42.431-04:00Hello mate great blog.Hello mate great blog.Junk Removal Livermorehttps://www.junk-removals.com/us/california-bin-rentals/junk-removal-livermore.shtmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8276394445294788649.post-28623316762014389962021-11-21T06:45:29.400-05:002021-11-21T06:45:29.400-05:00Very niice postVery niice postCarsonhttps://www.carsonreed.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8276394445294788649.post-32677861504057856882021-02-18T06:28:25.203-05:002021-02-18T06:28:25.203-05:00Thank you sharing useful information for us. i alw...Thank you sharing useful information for us. i always read your blog.
scrabble word finder
luckyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06723037247259341786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8276394445294788649.post-20139323747388685112017-12-10T21:23:06.295-05:002017-12-10T21:23:06.295-05:00@Tracy Nichols Thank you! Opening the blinds is an empowering metaphor as well as a loving and helpful act. I don't know if you ever saw the great Jonathan Miller talking about depression on Dick Cavett, but I saw this once 40 years ago and have thought of it often over the years when wrestling with demons (thanks, Internet, for making it available again): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fUZ9Dd7wf8Peter Patauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15791464275398693662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8276394445294788649.post-81001468471634687252016-06-06T17:05:29.174-04:002016-06-06T17:05:29.174-04:00I tried to comment from my phone last night and co...I tried to comment from my phone last night and couldn't remember my Google ID because it is automatic on computer :)
I related to all of this, though I'm a very low-functioning depressive.
